In the artist's words:

After a long night of drinking in their home port, when the full moon was high in the constellation of the holy rum lord, the six privateers decided to no longer serve under their captain, but to conquer the panties...er...hearts of the harbor wenches with their musical performances under the motto "Full speed ahead".
After a mutiny, which was presumably about rationing the rum supply, the gallows now await the dirty half-dozen on land. They decided to go to sea on their own from then on as outlaws. A ship was needed! Without further ado, they boarded the lieutenant captain's favorite three-master of the Redcoat fleet, hoisted the black flag and set sail for great adventures under the name Katerfahrt.
Life at sea now began in freedom - without a captain, without orders, without duties. When they weren't relieving merchants or Redcoats of gold and supplies, they partied, sang and drank on deck until the planks bent. But should the lice-ridden pack ever call at a port and venture ashore, the first stop is always the nearest harbor tavern, where the latest adventures and escapades are sung about in poetic lyrics and catchy melodies. Much of it seems like made-up sailor's yarn, but it is certain that every word, without exception, is true... well, almost every word.
