KAYAM: Sounds from around the world

What happens when two siblings with a childhood spent between England, Germany and Israel start making music together? KAYAM happens. Kim and Mike Rauss are the duo behind KAYAM, and their sound is as diverse as their upbringing: atmospheric, travel-inspired and full of warmth.

This is what KAYAM sounds like: falafel pop

To free themselves from genre pigeonholes, Kim and Mike simply call their music themselves: Falafel Pop. Some of it is crunchy, some light, most of it atmospheric and some even quite upbeat. The sound navigates somewhere between folk, singer-songwriter and world music, with lyrics that tell of travel, homesickness, departure and self-discovery.

From "Sand to Snow" to "Omens": the discography

KAYAM's debut album " Sand to Snow" was released in 2018 - a collection of songs written while traveling through Australia, Israel and Europe. Songs such as "Horizon", "Ground" and "Waves" tell of vast landscapes and the search for a place to call home. The second album "Omens" followed in 2023, with songs like "Atlas", "Personal Song" and "Lately" - more atmospheric, more mature and even more multi-layered than the debut.

A sweet fact: mom was there too
