Kreuzorganist Holger Gehring

Holger Gehring is the organist of the Kreuzkirche in Dresden. This position, which can be traced back to 1370, is one of the most traditional of its kind in Germany. He is the artistic director of the castle concerts and the organ concerts on the Silbermann organ in Reinhardtsgrimma. He is also a lecturer at the universities of music in Dresden and Leipzig and at the Dresden University of Church Music and teaches at master classes and advanced training courses. In his role as organ expert for the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Saxony, he is particularly familiar with the region's historical instruments. As a member of the board of the Association of German Organ Experts and the main committee of the Society of Organ Lovers, he is involved in organ building and organ playing issues throughout Germany and Europe.
