Still an insider tip, but not for long: laela is one of the most exciting newcomers from Austria. Behind the project is Leila Farassat-Schariatpanahi, a Viennese musician and songwriter with Iranian roots, who combines introspective German-language lyrics with a modern pop sound. Her songs tell of closeness, self-discovery and strength with emotional honesty - and sound as if you have always been waiting for exactly this kind of music.

From the kitchen to the stage: the story behind laela

The debut single "Lichter Aus" was released in April 2024 and immediately became a real banger. The second single "Fremde Stadt" then went through the roof and already has over 170,000 streams. Since then, laela has regularly delivered new songs and landed on playlists such as Wilde Herzen, Fresh Finds GSA (cover), Equal GSA and Popland. It all started at the kitchen table. With producer Moritz Kristmann and musician Johannes Riegelsperger, laela found a creative team to bring her musical vision to life.
