The 3.4-kilometre-long European XFEL produces extremely intense X-ray laser flashes that researchers from all over the world use to detect atomic details of viruses, film chemical reactions and study processes such as those inside planets. Discover more in our Lighthouse

The Lighthouse science experience center at the European XFEL will inform visitors about the facility and its research. The building houses the interactive permanent exhibition, the Xcool Lab and offers space for special exhibitions and conferences.
