Lucerne Guitar Duo

In the artist's words:

"The joy of playing. Timbre. Dialog."

This is how the Lucerne Guitar Duo describes its playing. "I want to radiate my joy in music and enjoy making music on stage," says guitarist Hannah Biermann. "We also want to show the audience the guitar duo's rich palette of colors and sounds," adds Roger Schütz. The young duo is interested in putting together innovative and varied programs, discovering pieces outside the guitar mainstream and enriching their repertoire with their own arrangements. Their technical brilliance and natural interplay allow the two musicians to realize their own stylistically pointed interpretations. Hannah Biermann and Roger Schütz came together as a duo in 2016. Since then, their concert activities have been a major focus of their work, especially in Switzerland and Germany. In summer 2021, their playing was awarded 2nd prize in the international "Gitarre plus eins" competition organized by ligita. From 2020-2022, they studied for a Master's degree in chamber music with Prof. Andreas von Wangenheim at the Lucerne University of Music, which they completed with distinction in summer 2022. They have been living and working in Cologne (DE) since summer 2024.
