First of all, do people even know Lusterboden? Let's put it this way: in the Viennese scene you come across the name - yes, it's as idiosyncratic as Bilderbuch or Buntspecht - all the time. As an insider tip. As an actually-no-longer-insider tip. As the next big thing. As an unstoppable newcomer. As a phenomenon.

Yet this band - which at its core consists of just two young musicians, the duo Florian Klingler and Merlin Miglinci - has only released one album so far: "Sturz auf Wien", released in 2024. There wasn't even a record or CD of it yet, but the streaming figures for the very quiet release have developed magnificently. Amazingly splendid. In summer 2025, Merlin and Florian have over ten thousand monthly listeners on Spotify, for example! On Instagram, some short videos have 3000 likes and more. Other world-famous acts in Austria don't manage that in years.

But this duo doesn't look to the left or right, doesn't care about the new Wienerlied or the old Austropop, doesn't squint at Ö3 or FM4 (okay, Radio Wien would be nice!), but clears everything with youthful enthusiasm, irresistible charm and a portion of foolhardiness. Word of mouth, baby! Lusterboden combine local color and pop with a language variant that hovers between Viennese and High German. Their songs tell poetic and humorous stories about everyday life in Vienna - the audience grows and grows and grows.

"Vespa fahren" is now the first single from the second album "Na bravo", which will be released in late fall 2025. If you want to ride along on this unstoppable vehicle of success: now would be the ideal time to get on board!
