Lydia Benecke

Lydia Benecke is a bestselling author and criminal psychologist. Born in Poland and raised in the Ruhr area, she studied psychology at the Ruhr University in Bochum, specializing in psychopathology and forensics. She works in an outpatient clinic for people who have committed sexual offenses and with violent male offenders in a social therapy prison.

Through her non-fiction bestsellers, podcasts and other media projects, she communicates the exciting world of criminal psychology to a wide audience. These include the books Auf dünnem Eis: Die Psychologie des Bösen, Sadisten: Tödliche Liebe, Psychopathinnen: The Psychology of Female Evil, the podcasts WTF Talk - Science Meets Friendship and Melody of Crime as well as appearances as an expert in the ARD Crime Time format Der Fall and in the special programs of Aktenzeichen XY... solved.
