Curtain up, Magda! The just 22-year-old musician and drama student from Linz has just been on tour as a violinist with Berq and is now about to make her release debut as a solo artist. Her first single "Brich mich" will be released on February 21 via Warner Music and invites you on a very special kind of sound journey. The extraordinary instrumental backdrop between fairytale aesthetics and virtuoso violin playing serves the singer and composer as a stage for her innermost feelings.

The combination with the way Magda knows how to use her delicate voice makes for a spectacular scene debut. On "Brich mich", she talks about her understanding of true greatness and releases an almost cinematic manifesto for a benevolent approach to supposed failure.

In a world in which escapism is celebrated and states of intoxication are becoming increasingly popular as an escape from the threat of dystopia, Magda is taking a running start in the opposite direction. She wants to feel more instead of less, to be touched instead of anaesthetized. The conscious confrontation with sensations of all kinds harbors different states and so Magda always ends up in an emotional rollercoaster between fullness and emptiness. Creating worlds of sound from this alternating bath not only helps her to give space to certain emotions - composing, writing and also slipping into different roles on stage also serves Magda as an inevitable coping strategy.

Magda's music is just as difficult to describe as the blurred feelings she knows how to sharpen thanks to her songs - somewhere between chansons, songwriting and scenic writing, she finds inspiration and at the same time the ambition to break with it. She writes her lyrics in German, which enables her to dissect different states of mind more precisely than almost any other language, and underpins them with instruments that have so far mainly been found in classical music. The experimental interplay of these elements, which have significantly shaped Magda's musical development, also results in a side effect that should not be ignored: claiming so-called high culture with her very own Hopecore.
