Maria Basel

Maria Basel, an artist from Wuppertal, combines her talents as a singer, composer and producer. Her roots in the music scene of the Bergisches Land and Ruhr region are reflected in her work, which took a significant step into an expanded sound space in 2020.

Maria Basel's solo project of the same name fuses her classical musical training with a preference for electronic sounds, jazz and RnB. In her works, which are characterized by melancholic harmonies, flickering loops and thoughtful lyrics, Basel processes personal encounters and leaves the listener room for their own interpretations and associations.

Through her diverse musical influences, she continuously strives to explore new, unknown territories in music. In addition to her solo project, Maria Basel collaborates with cross-genre artists such as Samy Deluxe, Jonas David, Christof Söhngen and Golow.
