From the spirit of techno, French-Canadian musician Marie Davidson has created a ground-breaking body of work that ranges from chanson to Italo disco to icy four-to-the-floor bangers, with her hauntingly minimalist spoken vocals at the center. The label list of Davidson's releases under her own name, as a duo as Essaie Pas or most recently in the trio L'Œil Nu reads like a who's who of advanced pop culture (including Constellation, DFA, Ninja Tune).
