Undoubtedly, Marlon Hoffstadt aka DJ
Daddy Trance remains one of the most

controversial characters in dance mu-
sic. Being jointly responsible for the ra-
pid uprise of trance pop edits in clubs

worldwide, he has left a lot of techno
reactionists infuriated. And yet, through
his impressive oeuvre that goes well

beyond remakes of noughties mega
hits, DJ Daddy Trance continues to

proudly bastardize narrow-minded un-
derstandings of underground dance

music with great success. Perhaps,
a decade long career in nightlife can
either lead to conservatism or to the
realization that none of these vanities

matters, resulting in his unique versa-
tile output.
