Martin Kälberer

In the artist's words:

Martin Kälberer has been working as a freelance musician since 1989. After long tours with numerous formations ranging from Brazilian music, pop and rock, jazz and musicals to world music and singer/songwriter projects, the search for his own roots became increasingly important to Martin Kälberer. He began to develop and present his own understanding of the structure, form and aesthetics of music. Initially working purely as a pianist and keyboardist, he later expanded his range of instruments. Mandolin, percussion (especially the African Udu), accordion, bass, vibrandoneon, various wind instruments and last but not least the Swiss instrument "Hang" were gradually added. In addition to his long-standing association with Werner Schmidbauer and Pippo Pollina, it is still and increasingly the free, improvised music and the search for new sounds and special places and moments that fascinate him and which he implements in his solo projects.
