MC RENE has been an integral part of German rap history since 1995 - and at the same time one of its most vibrant contemporary players. With "Renevolution", he released the first ever German solo rap album. Since then, he has never stopped reinventing himself: as a rapper, author, essayist and independent publisher.

His essays on German rap, cultural politics and self-esteem reach an audience of millions and regularly generate debate far beyond the hip-hop scene. With his publishing house R95 and Freestyle University, he stands for an idea that is older than any algorithm: Sharing knowledge, showing attitude, doing it yourself.
