In the artist's words:

The Hanoverian orchestra musica assoluta always has its finger on the pulse of the times. At the latest with the climate-friendly festival MENSCHLICHKEIT (2021), the multimedia concert series VORTEX (2022) and the music and knowledge project THE OCEAN IS A NOISY PLACE (2023), the ensemble has dedicated itself to the artistic treatment of socio-political and ecological topics. Under the artistic direction of composer and conductor Thorsten Encke, musica assoluta has managed the balancing act between a highly specialized focus on contemporary music on the one hand and a stylistically diverse dramaturgy on the other since 2011.
Featuring award-winning musicians from all over Germany, the ensemble has founded its own concert series in Hanover, causing a sensation with its dense program and responding to a tangible need for a change in concert and listening habits with its work in schools and the promotion of young talent.
