In the artist's words:

Sometimes the best stories start with a ... Facebook call: In 2018, Julia Schneider was looking for a musical group in Cologne. Her wish: to finally be on stage again herself! But as she couldn't find a suitable group in the cathedral city, she decided to take matters into her own hands. The Facebook call was the starting signal for M.A.S.C.(Musical Arts Students Cologne). A dedicated management team and numerous talented young people who shared Julia's passion were quickly found.

M.A.S.C. became an association that set itself the goal of offering young talents a stage for their musical dreams and enriching Cologne's cultural landscape with fresh, exciting productions. In short: to share the passion for musicals. M.A.S.C. encompasses all areas of active musical work - from the performance on stage to the diverse tasks behind the scenes.

How successful is this concept? The first production Und weil sie nicht gestorben sind... (2019) was successfully staged at the Studiobühne Köln. This was followed by the varied medley musical evening Maskenball (2022) with some original songs and, in summer 2023, the impressive performance with Knastschwestern in the Stadtsaal Frechen in front of several hundred spectators. In 2024, the play 9 to 5 was again completely sold out in Frechen on two out of three days. M.A.S.C. has long been more than just an association - it is a vibrant community that has found its place in the musical scene. Another performance is planned for 2025 with Soho Cinder*ella and the M.A.S.C. association is looking forward to a large audience and enthusiastic musical lovers who would like to take part in future productions.
