In the artist's words:

Negah Amiri is a German stand-up comedienne and presenter who won the German Comedy Award for Best Young Artist in 2023. At the age of eleven, she fled from the Islamic Republic of Iran to Germany with her mother and older brother. She grew up in Wiesbaden, where she graduated from high school. She then studied Applied Media and Media Acting in Frankfurt-Niederrad with the aim of becoming a television presenter. After a traineeship at Radio Frankfurt, she presented programs at Antenne Bad Kreuznach before ending her career as a radio presenter.

She experienced racism and bullying in her childhood, which she deals with in her comedy shows. She had negative experiences, particularly due to the similarity between her first name and the word "Negro", which she later addressed in her programs. She initially used social media to share her experiences and then appeared on TV shows such as *NightWash* and the *Faisal Kawusi Show*. She also regularly publishes content on her YouTube channel in collaboration with MySpass.

In April 2021, she launched the podcast *Cringe Potential* together with Paul Wolter. At the end of 2021, Hessischer Rundfunk began producing her weekly TV show *upDATE with Negah Amiri*. Today she lives in Cologne.
