Normaler Tag stands for music without a happy ending. The songs tell of life between new beginnings and stagnation, of routines that support and at the same time oppress. The band's lyrics reflect life and music: observations from everyday life, honest, direct and without sugarcoating. Characterized by German lyrics, the songs combine melancholic images with catchy melodies, powerful guitars and driving rhythms. Punk, indie and rock elements meet stories about failure, loneliness, loss and the longing to escape the monotonous gray of everyday life for a moment. The band formed in 2015 and consists of Thorsten "Thodde" Nelles and Volker Barkhoff on guitars, Thorsten Czechanowsky and Florian Beer on bass and drums and Andreas "Ecky" Eckenbach as lead singer. The EP "Die Tage sind jetzt grauer" (2018) shows the bandwidth of Normaler Tag. Songs such as "Geist", "Alter Mann", "Alte Hure Zeit", "Taub" and "Rennen" tell of the inner rift between everyday life and new beginnings - with melodies that stick and lyrics that linger. The second EP "Der Sommer neigt sich langsam dem Ende" ("Summer is slowly coming to an end") deepens this view and shows the rift between relationships and everyday life - quiet, angry and close to real life. Normaler Tag is music for all those who have to function, are allowed to doubt and still carry on.
