Peter Godazgar was born in Korschenbroich, grew up in Hückelhoven and studied German and history in Aachen after graduating from high school. He then completed a traineeship at the Mitteldeutsche Zeitung in Halle (Saale) and attended the Henri Nannen School in Hamburg.
