He sang about the end of capitalism, buried his iPhone at the bend in the river and sought absolute happiness. He has thrown words and read what has been thrown. He has circled, conjured, breathed and intoned the present. PeterLicht has been searching for and finding words and sounds for eight albums. For us, for our staggering between growth and exhaustion, between criticism of the system and the bargain market.

PeterLicht has only made very good things so far. Starting with "Vierzehn Lieder" in 2001, which included the hit "Sonnendeck". Since then, he has written, produced and directed records, books, films and plays, each new thing a nudge in the ribs of all less output-intensive artists. For the first few years of his work, we didn't know what he looked like. He didn't give us a face for his pictures. He meant "that's not me, that's you".

PeterLicht has developed his brand over the years: electro-acoustic mini-music, understretched vocals and lyrics like post-its for all the utopias in the world. No motivational speeches and "don't-you-feel-it? hymns, but gems formed from our everyday lives. The cool thing about PeterLicht is that you don't think he lives in an ivory tower, but where we all are, e.g. with an ice cream in his hand in a pissed-up train station underpass.
