Philharmonischer Verein 1834

The Philharmonic Association 1834 e.V. is a symphony orchestra made up of around 70 ambitious amateurs and a few professional musicians of all ages. Around two to three concert projects are rehearsed and performed each year.

In the tradition of Frankfurt's democratic civic spirit, the association organizes itself. The members decide on concert programmes, instrumentation and organizational matters.

Works from all eras are performed, although the focus is currently on works from the 19th and early 20th centuries due to the full symphony orchestra line-up.
