In the artist's words:

Who are PLANTING TREES?

Founded in 2021 in Leipzig, the band PLANTING TREES consists of four music-loving nerds. The proof: two of them are theoretical physicists! So it's no wonder that the guys' music sounds a little different, but you'll recognize them straight away.

With Paolo, the Italian singer and lyricist, at the helm, and the talented musicians Chris (bass), Felix (drums) and Jakob (guitar), PLANTING TREES are a real creative collective. Shortly after the band was founded, the name PLANTING TREES was established because they want their songs and lyrics to make their audience think - in other words, they plant fresh food for thought in their heads.

And their music?

PLANTING TREES have fun writing playful and unconventional songs that not only challenge the four musicians, but also push the boundaries of genres between indie and alternative rock. In 2025, the time has finally come: they will release their first album entitled "Modern Heresy".
Their songs are based on observations from everyday life, the illusions and disillusions of modern capitalist society, a place where people try to escape reality in any way they can. The lyrics are ironic and witty, with a certain distance to themselves.
About the creation of their new song "Nightlife", the boys say: "Paolo had a lyric about going out partying in the evening to escape the stress of the working week. Our own version of sex, drugs and rock and roll, so to speak. We just wanted to write a party song for a change! So after trying out 20
different versions and the song developed more and more complexity, 'Nightlife' was finished. - Maybe "simple" just isn't our thing". - The whole band smiles. Inspired by the unique atmosphere of the clubs, bars and live music venues that characterize Leipzig at night, the band captures the city's attitude to life in their song. With the catchy beats, combined with lyrics that stick in your head, they want to make Leipzig and many other places dance.
