Discover the creative power of plastic bags

- Art from plastic

In this workshop, you will learn how seemingly everyday plastic bags can be turned into impressive works of art. Janina Santamarina will show you the many ways in which plastic can be transformed into bright ornaments or soft non-woven fabrics. In a relaxed atmosphere at *studio tonisam, we take a completely new look at art and consumption. Together we will experience how our own plastic waste becomes a creative raw material and takes on fascinating forms.

Janina Santamarina (Janina Trienekens *1986), born in Kempen on the Lower Rhine, studied art history in Bochum and object and spatial design in Dortmund. She has lived in Hamburg since 2015 and works sculpturally in public spaces and in the off-scene. Her main material is the red plastic bag, which she understands as a poetic material and constantly restages in interventions, wind installations, soft ornaments and objects
