Rathmann are Magnus Ernst (vocals), Moritz Weishaupt (bass) and Arne Wolff (drums). Great danceability and detailed arrangements are the two cornerstones of their music. Comparisons to Element of Crime or Udo Lindenberg are therefore obvious, and Wanda or Faber are also quickly thrown into the equation.
What do they have in common with Rathmann? Sad and tragic lyrics that are nevertheless humorous and intelligent, and a unique sound that can't be found anywhere else in the German indie scene. Rathmann clearly make German indie pop but without always quoting the same 80s references.
