Artist Biography

Ray Knox (Rainer Thull) is a German DJ, music producer, and remixer. His career began back in 1989, when electronic dance music was still played on vinyl. Since then, he has been an integral part of the German dance and club scene and can look back on more than 35 years of experience as a DJ and producer.

Ray Knox made his breakthrough in the early 2000s with numerous original productions, successful remixes, and the compilation series he mixed: Club Energy, Club Energy Special, and Colosseum of Trance. For many years, these CDs were among Germany’s best-known dance and trance compilations and made his name known far beyond the club scene. (Musik Sammler)

With releases on labels such as Alphabet City, Dropout, Klubbstyle Records, High Five Records, Mental Madness, You Love Dance, and others, Ray Knox established himself as a producer in the dance, hands-up, and trance genres. His productions have been featured on numerous national and international compilations and played by DJs worldwide. (Music Metrics Vault)

Among his most successful productions is “All Night Long,” whose Ti-Mo remix reached millions of streams on Spotify. His remix of Andrew Spencer & The Vamprockerz’s “Zombie” also became one of the most successful Hands-Up remixes of its time.

After several years focused on production and remix work, Ray Knox made an impressive comeback in 2026 with “Chasing Light.” Today, his sound centers on modern vocal house, disco house, and club house.

Together with Auri Pequea, he forms the DJ duo Auri Pequea & Ray Knox. Together, they host the “House im Sand” event series, which has quickly become a staple of the regional house scene.

Even after more than three decades, Ray Knox is known for his high-energy DJ sets, high-quality productions, and his passion for inspiring people with electronic music.
