In the artist's words:

There are encounters in life that change everything from one day to the next: the way home, your favorite meal, the playlist with the "best songs of all time". Encounters that you would never have seen coming, but that you have always been quietly waiting for. As if life suddenly jumps out from behind a curtain and shouts "now!" and something new, exciting and at the same time familiar suddenly sprouts from the ground where previously there was only dry earth. The story of Schlotte and laurin begins where chance becomes destiny.

Potsdam, spring 2023: Behind the walls of the former GDR data center lies laurin's small studio, where the two meet for the first time during a writing session for a German pop artist. Schlotte had previously only worked as a songwriter and laurin as a producer for other artists, but a simple "let's make music together" turned into - spoiler - almost three years of intensive collaboration and their own project as an artist duo. In 2023, the two spend almost every day together in the studio, escaping into their new shared world between training, studies and heartbreaks.

With every memory, every experience they share, their little plant grows and with it their friendship - not to mention the list of demos in their Dropbox folder. And so, in the summer of 2024, they take the step out of their comfort zone and into the world of social media. 40 seconds of the song "Andy Warhol" attracted a lot of attention in the indie pop scene and became the starting signal for Schlotte and laurin to show their world to the outside world bit by bit. Nine singles follow, in which their dedication to storytelling is also evident on a visual level. In addition to visualizers loaded with Easter Eggs, all cover art features the motif of the two "head fish" that Schlotte himself drew as a toddler.

With each single, their world is enriched by an experience and a feeling, accompanied by a playful naivety that perhaps stems precisely from the fact that all these songs were created under four ears and never with the intention of being released one day. The deeper we delve, the more diverse the world of sounds and themes becomes. Laurin experiments with textures and beats whose atmosphere and details trigger something at the back of the brain and goes hand in hand with Schlotte's unconventional writing, which brings even the last hearts out of their slumber - into a reality whose stories may bear thorns, but always retain their hopeful tone.
