Shahin Asmari

Shahin Asmari, born and raised in Iran, he studied English Literature (odd) in the country where becoming an eigineer or a doctor is the norm and left his home country to continue his master in Germany (awkward), little knowing that his future path will be doing comedy in Germany (weird, he knows!).
His comedy focuses on the life of an expat AKA immigrant on his case where the routine life becomes the daily absurdities due to the new culture, lack of enough language competence and background. The jokes he takes on stage are totally relatable for people who have immigration background and those who have international friends; however, it is not exclusive to those people as the local audience will also be given insight to what the life of an immigrant looks like in Germany.
Shahin, who founded Burning Mic Comedy Show in 2022, has been keeping the English comedy scene in Hamburg alive, representing over 200 comedians from all around the universe in +400 shows. Apart from English comedy, he regularly performs in German for German shows in and outside of Hamburg, and he has opened shows for some big stars such as Max Amini, Tamer Kattan, and Negah Amiri to name a few.
2026 has been a turning point for Shahin as he quit his full time job to pursue his comedy career more seriously. Whether he will land on Netflix or out in the streets is a question, the answer of which you will probably know in a few years.
