Simone Klein

Simone Klein is an independent expert and appraiser for photography, art consultant, curator and author in Cologne. She studied art history in Paris and Bonn. She has worked for Galerie Rudolf Kicken, Lempertz Auction House as Head of the Photography Department, Sotheby's London and Paris as Director of the European Photography Department, Magnum Photos in Paris as Global Sales Director and Artnet Auctions as Senior International Specialist, Photographs. Klein is a member of the Curatorial Committee of Photo London, nominator for the Prix Pictet, jury chairman of the Felix Schoeller Photo Award and holds a teaching position at the Danube University in Krems, Austria. Simone Klein is a member of the German Society for Photography (DGPh e.V.) and the Association of Independent Art Experts (VUKS e.V.) as well as a publicly sworn and appointed expert at the Cologne Chamber of Industry and Commerce, subject area "Works of Photography 19th-21st Century" Since 2021 she has been showing positions of classical and contemporary photography in her "Showroom Fotografie" in Cologne-Ehrenfeld.
