Sophie Sczepanek

In the artist's words:

Sophie Sczepanek, a pianist with Silesian-Korean roots, feels musically at home in a wide variety of worlds: be it between classical song or contemporary chanson, opera or musical, traditional concert or interdisciplinary formats.

Trained at the Folkwang University of the Arts in Essen and the Paris Conservatoire PSPBB, she lives and works in Düsseldorf.

In addition to her artistic work, she is involved in music education and is committed to animal-assisted music education in a team with her educational companion dog Theodore.

With her format Zwischen:Ton:Salon, she creates spaces for musical reflection beyond the mainstream: intimate, discursive and always with attitude.
