The Stella Quartet brings together outstanding musicians with international careers to form an ensemble that is far more than “just” classical. With a keen sense of atmosphere, precise ensemble playing, and great stylistic openness, they create concert experiences that immediately connect with the audience—ranging from gentle to powerful, from delicate to rock-inspired.
On first violin is Adrian Iliescu, a concertmaster of international renown whose stage presence is as confident as it is passionate. At his side: Birgit Erz on second violin, a multi-award-winning musician whose tonal complexity embodies the very essence of chamber music.
Violist Andra Heesch brings a depth of sound shaped by her worldwide concert career. Her playing is expressive, nuanced, and of touching intensity. An artistic voice full of energy and character. The quartet is rounded out by Samuel Selle on the cello, whose warm, resonant tone and instinct for chamber music ground and enrich every program.
In Hamburg, the Stella Quartet performs at the Sundown Concerts, demonstrating how familiar songs can resonate in the sound of a string quartet: emotionally, precisely, surprisingly, and intimately.
