The aim of the Stiftung Deutsche Depressionshilfe, founded in 2008, is to make a significant contribution to better care for people suffering from depression and to reducing the number of suicides in Germany. The Stiftung Deutsche Depressionshilfe is an independent non-profit foundation under civil law. The work of the foundation is independent of pharmaceutical companies.
The foundation is mainly financed by donations, endowments, grants and third-party funding for projects and research. In addition, there is income from commercial business operations.
In addition to research activities, the foundation offers those affected and their relatives a wide range of information and support services such as e-mail advice and the Germany-wide depression information hotline (0800 33 44 533).
