The TAO Choir Düsseldorf was founded in 1991 by a small group - in a rehearsal room above the former TAO bookshop. This gave the choir its unusual name.
We are now a large mixed choir. With around 80 active singers, aged between 25 and 78. Although the male voices are also well filled, we are looking for reinforcement, especially in the tenor. We are open to new members, but we are currently only accepting male voices.

Our repertoire includes choral music from musical eras ranging from the Renaissance to 20th century choral literature.

We sing a capella, but are also happy to sing with smaller or larger ensembles through to large choral works with symphony orchestras and soloists.

The musical backgrounds range from amateurs to demanding amateur musicians to professional musicians who actively participate in rehearsals and concerts and thus support the choirmaster in his work.

We are a registered association and a member of the Düsseldorf Choir Association, but have no ideological or other affiliations.
