Ulrich Wickert

Ulrich Wickert, born in Tokyo in 1942, is one of Germany's best-known journalists. He made a name for himself with critical contributions to the television magazine MONITOR before reporting from Washington, New York and Paris for fourteen years as ARD foreign correspondent. He presented the Tagesthemen news program for fifteen years and was considered the most popular presenter on German television during this time due to his stylistically polished, always ironic texts. Today he lives in Hamburg and the south of France and is the author of numerous non-fiction books and crime novels.
