"umbra" make indie rock with an international sound and lyrics in German. In the music metropolis of Cologne, they create songs about the big and small issues of life - the climate crisis, the social shift to the right, but also about "being there for each other" and moments of longing - the main thing is to be honest and never trivial. Music that sometimes hurts, but also connects and heals. "And suddenly it doesn't hurt so much anymore."
You can hear all of this in their productions and concerts: Warm bass lines, shimmering guitars, real drums - things you find less and less of in today's pop music. But things that umbra have made their trademark. The three musicians from Cologne are happiest when they are allowed to take their audience away for a short time at concerts. Or when a loved one tells them that one of their songs has become the soundtrack to a phase of their lives.
