In the first few seconds, the music still seems to be local: "Typically Bavarian" is what you think you hear when the clever musicians of the "Unterbiberger Hofmusik" get going. But as soon as they have lured even down-to-earth jazz haters with their seeming harmlessness, they take on almost anything...!

At the heart of the "Unterbiberger Hofmusik" is the Himpsl couple and their three sons - all of whom are trained musicians. Since 1992, the Himpsls have been crossing musical boundaries - together with top-class guests, or rather friends, from the international musical elite. In close collaboration with top musicians from their genres, such as Claudio Roditi, Jay Ashby and Matthias Schriefl, they create compositions that are as irritating as they are inspiring. Folk? Jazz? Latin? Balkan? Brass? - All or none of the above!
