Valentino Vivace, born in the Italian-speaking part of Switzerland, is one of the most exciting newcomers on the Swiss music scene and has quickly attracted international attention with his unique blend of Italo disco, French touch, indie pop, unpretentious vocals with Italian lyrics and stylish vintage synth vibes.

Fun fact first: Fokuhila is actually a Germanized word in the Italian vocabulary and means the same thing: front-short-back-long - for a hairstyle that has long stood for avant-garde class and fashion consciousness. Valentino Vivace wears the cut with a glamorous touch and can be sure that the disco cut more than suits him. His extraordinary style, a pleasantly un-macho, modern interpretation of dancey DIY 70s and 80s disco old-punk, quickly left us wanting more.

The breakthrough: "Meteoriti" and the Swiss Music Awards

Neo-Blitz-Kid: The Zurich-based artist first stepped into the limelight in 2022 when he released his debut album "Meteoriti" without the support of a label or management. This self-confident independence, combined with his signature sound, earned him a nomination for the Swiss Music Award in the "Best Talent" category and extensive airplay on leading radio stations such as SRF3, Couleur3, Rete Tre and Deutschlandfunk Kultur. On Spotify alone, Valentino Vivace already has almost 42,000 monthly listeners - the best proof of his considerable popularity as a newcomer act and his growing fan community.

Valentino Vivace live: stage magic from Zurich to Montreux

Valentino fans are not only fed with tracks from the loudspeakers or - très chic - available on cassette. Valentino Vivace has stage magic and his live performances are just as impressive as his studio work. In just two years, he has played at almost all the major Swiss festivals, including the Gurtenfestival, the Openair St. Gallen, the Winterthur Music Festival, the Paléo Festival and the legendary Montreux Jazz Festival. He has also made a name for himself internationally with appearances in Milan, at the Fusion Festival near Berlin and at MS Dockville in Hamburg. An absolute highlight alongside his performance at ESNS 25 in Groningen was the sold-out headline show at Dynamo Zurich in November 2024, where a whopping 700 tickets were secured by fans in no time at all and the show was sold out three months in advance.

Valentino Vivace is a pretty perfect blend of larger-than-life gestures on stage with a half-open shirt and a likeable "I-dance-in-the-moshpit-with-you" approach. A charmingly flashing DIY stage set manifests his effervescent creativity, and the top-notch outfits of his fellow musicians are matched only by a selection of vintage synthesizers that show a deep love for the music.

"Discoteca Vivace": the second album

His second album "Discoteca Vivace", released in early 2025, is the highly anticipated next step in his creative development: Inspired by the iconic Italian discotheques of the 1980s, Valentino Vivace combines hypnotic synthesizer sounds, crisp, pulsating beats and charming vocals to create a soundtrack with magnetic appeal for the dance floors of today's danceterias. The recordings took place in Valentino's creative hotspot Zurich and in Sestri Levante, Italy. The new release cycle kicked off with the first single "Eroi" from October 2024, accompanied by a cinematic Italo spaghetti-..., which has already become a live audience favorite. Further singles such as "Baia Degli Angeli", a tribute to the late Italo disco pioneer Pino D'Angiò, and "Hulahoop" followed before the album release.
