Vocal Concert Dresden's field of activity ranges from reflecting on centuries-old music in the concert hall and church to exploring and developing unfamiliar sounds and formats, from festivals and studio productions to self-initiated concert series. Since its foundation over 30 years ago, the choir has succeeded in maintaining its profile and character despite a changing artistic focus. While the choir initially focused primarily on works from the Baroque and early Romantic periods in numerous concert and CD projects, today the spectrum extends to modern works and world premieres.

In addition to the musically masterful performance, the ensemble's special quality features are its striking programs and their occasionally unconventional presentation. This can be experienced in particular at the "Wandelkonzerte" in Dresden's Albertinum or as part of the "Voices for Today" concert series. By regularly performing liturgical services in the Dresden Kreuzkirche, Vocal Concert Dresden makes an important contribution to continuing the long tradition of church music in this building.

Thanks to its interpretative intelligence and the emotional appeal of its concerts, Vocal Concert Dresden has earned great esteem both in its home city and on the international stage. The ensemble, consisting of professional singers and amateurs, is repeatedly praised for its stylistic confidence and elegant, natural music-making.
