Vokalgruppe VIP

The Dresden vocal group VIP consists of a total of eight young singers. All of them are former members of the Dresden Kreuzchor or the Thomanerchor Leipzig, two of the most famous boys' choirs in Germany. The singers have set themselves the goal of presenting a broad musical spectrum to their audiences. Their repertoire consists of vocal music from the Renaissance and Baroque through the Romantic period to works from the 20th and 21st centuries. Compositions by Jacobus Gallus, Michael Praetorius, Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy, Francis Poulenc and Rudolf Mauersberger play an important role. The ensemble also performs light music. The music of the Comedian Harmonists, the Beatles, Billy Joel and the Wise Guys is an equally important part of their repertoire. At their concerts, they perform in various formations of between four and eight singers. The ensemble was founded in 2003 by five Kreuzchor singers who were active at the time, two of whom still sing in the current line-up. Six more "VIPs" gradually joined the ensemble. Today, the vocal group can look back on countless concerts throughout Germany and abroad (Austria, Switzerland, Liechtenstein, France and Italy).
