VokalWerk Stuttgart

In the artist's words:

Our more than 60 singers are united by a great love of singing, a willingness to get involved and a stylistic openness.

VokalWerk Stuttgart was formed in April 2018 in the environment of the Neues Gymnasium Leibniz in Stuttgart. From the loose structure of a project-based choir, we developed into a highly enthusiastic choral community. We quickly gave ourselves a name, founded the association VokalWerk Stuttgart e.V. and developed our own profile. We see this as a stylistic range, intensive work on the sound of the choir and the promotion of young singers.

For the members of our choir, talented amateurs and trained musicians from the Stuttgart region, the focus is on the high-quality production of choral music. The repertoire ranges from oratorio literature such as Handel's "Messiah", Mozart's "Requiem" and Orff's "Carmina burana" to stylistically diverse a cappella literature and the world premiere of Amir Shpilman's composition "Circles" at Mailänder Platz in Stuttgart (2021).
