You have to touch it! This is the first and never-ending impulse that Willi Siber's abstract works radiate. Shimmering chrome lacquer surfaces and delicately colored, filigree epoxy resin forms appeal directly to the sense of touch, giving the works transcendence and emotionality. His steel sculptures, wooden objects and panel paintings, which are represented in many public collections such as that of the German Bundestag, do not fit into any interpretative pigeonhole. Willi Siber always explores the boundary between material experience and possibility, allows geometric forms to play into the anthropomorphic, enlarges microstructures into geometric patterns, combines nails into airy clouds of color and allows steel works weighing tons to float ethereally. Willi Siber delightfully dismantles artistic principles of order and practiced visual experiences and constantly reinvents himself.
