Yu, real name Yunus Emre Can, is an up-and-coming German musician and songwriter from Troisdorf in North Rhine-Westphalia. Even as a child, he danced and sang alongside street musicians; as a teenager, he performed on the streets of NRW himself.

Yu first became widely known in 2022 through TikTok videos in which he presented his own songs and filmed himself playing for waiting fans in front of the concert halls of his idol Alligatoah. Alligatoah became aware of him and invited him to accompany him on his "Retour" tour. This marked the beginning of Yu's professional music career.

In November 2024, Yu released his debut album "Please Hold the Line", which offers a mixture of indie pop, socio-critical statements and humorous tips.
