Best of all, all 6 tips are easily accessiblewith the Bayerische Regiobahn, or BRB for short.
1st Mammoth Museum in Siegsdorf
Ever since the animated film 'Ice Age', mammoths have been very popular with all age groups. But who can claim to have seen one? The answer: anyone who has ever been to the Mammoth Museum in Siegsdorf in Chiemgau. The Natural History and Mammoth Museum owes its existence to the discovery of 45,000-year-old mammoth bones. They were found in the Gerhartsreiter Graben not far from Siegsdorf. Since the museum opened in 1995, more than a million people have visited the largest and best-preserved mammoth skeleton in Europe.
How to get there: To get to Siegsdorf, take the BRB Netz Chiemgau-Inntal from Munich main station to Traunstein. The journey takes around an hour. From the station in Traunstein, take the 9512/9526 bus and you will arrive at your destination in another 14 minutes.

Equipped with a helmet and safety ropes, the climbing fun takes place at heights of up to 14 meters, so you should have a head for heights. But don't panic: Thanks to the "Smart Belay" safety system, there is no chance of you being unhooked. What makes the climbing forest in Prien particularly beautiful is the view of Lake Chiemsee. A visit to Salzburg is not only worthwhile because of the beautiful old town, the birthplace of Mozart or the coffee house culture. Salzburg also has a very exciting House of Nature. Fascinating underwater worlds in the aquarium, extraterrestrial experiences in the space hall, giant dinosaurs from days long past, an observatory and a science center await you on over 7000 square meters. If you need a change from the Deutsches Museum in Munich, this is the place for you.

4. stroll & eat well at Pasta Arte in Traunstein
Nothing to see in Traunstein? I don't know who said that. So hop on the BRB, which will whisk you to Traunstein in an hour and twenty minutes. Once there, you can start with a stroll through the beautiful old town and fortify yourself with coffee and cake at Wiggerl 17, for example. Also worth seeing in Traunstein is the Salinenpark and the so-called 'fortress'. Coffee is served there during the day. In the evening, the fortress is transformed into a beautiful underground bar. We particularly recommend a visit to the Pasta Arte restaurant in Traunstein. The reputation of this Italian restaurant not far from the town center on Taubenmarkt has already spread far beyond Traunstein's city limits. The menu offers traditional Italian pasta dishes of the finest quality. And in a very nice ambience - inside and outside.
