Banh Mi to go
For those who have not yet had the pleasure of eating banh mi, this is to enlighten you: banh mi is a filled baguette and has its origins in Vietnamese street food cuisine. Anyone wondering how the baguette came to Vietnam has probably forgotten colonialism once again. Traditionally, however, the baguette for a banh mi is not baked with wheat, but with rice flour and then topped with fiery, fruity chili sauce, cucumber, grated carrots and fresh coriander. Finally, pork, beef or chicken is added. Vegetarians can choose between tofu, sides or sometimes an omelette. And the banh mi is ready - in our opinion the queen of sandwiches.
Bep Ho - Giesing
If you fancy a Banh Mi in Giesing, you know where to go: to Bep Ho! The rather inconspicuous store on Tegernseer Landstraße is a real insider tip among the people of Giesing and a popular place to go for lunch. Here you can choose between a banh mi with beef and one with tofu. The portion is huge, so we think the 8.00 euros per piece is reasonable.
