Picking berries in and around Munich

The Hofreiter berry fields can be found in many locations: Lochhausen, Eching, Feldmoching, Unterhaching, Johanneskirchen, Olching, Pasing and Untermenzing. As well as being able to pick your own, you can also visit the berry café or dive into the corn maze. The Hofreiter family not only offers strawberries, but you can also pick your own asparagus, tomatoes, cucumbers, beans, currants, cherries, raspberries, blueberries, potatoes, blackberries, corn and apples. The time has finally come, the first strawberry fields are open and by mid-June at the latest, all of the Wolf family's fields will be accessible. You can find their fields in the west of Munich in Wagenhofen, Germering, Maisach, Fürstenfeldbruck, Jesenwang, Munich Neu-Aubing and Puchheim. In addition to strawberries, you can also pick asparagus and apples at Wolfs, depending on the season. You can find out all about opening times and helpful tips on their website. The Lang family's numerous strawberry fields are located in the south-east of Munich. You can pick strawberries in Perlach, Putzbrunn, Taufkirchen, Vaterstetten, Sauerlach, Hohenlinden, Ebersberg, Grafing and Egmating. On the Lang family's website you can find out whether the fields are open all day or only in the afternoon. Almost all the fields are already open, the rest will follow in the next few weeks of June. The Lang family also has numerous flower fields, including peonies.

The Storz family has been supplying you with fresh fruit since 1921. Initially only currants and orchard fruit - since the 1930s also strawberries. Their now numerous strawberry and raspberry fields stretch from Munich to the west, as far as Memmingen and Füssen. The strawberry fields in Obersendling, Germering, Munich-Forstenried, Martinsried and Neuried are of particular interest to you. The raspberry fields are still closed, but the strawberry fields are expected to be accessible from the beginning of June. The Rothschwaige berry garden is now run by the fourth generation of the Offenbeck family. You can pick your own strawberries, raspberries, blueberries and currants in the fields of the historic estate in Karlsfeld or take them home with you. However, self-picking will only start in the second week of June. We will start with the strawberries, which will hopefully be ripe soon. Incidentally, the Beerenhof is located in the immediate vicinity of Karlsfelder See and Waldschwaigsee, ideal for an excursion.
