11 breakfast tips for late risers
Do you love breakfast, but do you also love to sleep? We feel the same way. That's why we particularly appreciate cafés that serve long breakfasts. Here we reveal some of our favorites.

Since October 2021, the Madam Anna Ecke daytime café no longer only serves delicious tapas, but also brunch - from Tuesday to Sunday, always from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm. The selection is quite large: from small, sweet and savoury options to a wide variety of egg variations (poached on toasted natural sourdough bread with delicious extras such as caramelized tomatoes, mmmhh) to shakshuka (also vegan possible!), no breakfast wishes are left unfulfilled here.

Breakfast until 3.30 pm? We love it! Café Jasmin is always a good place to enjoy at any time of the day or evening, but we particularly love the breakfast. In addition to unagitated, but still very good breakfast classics, there are also various vegan options, all of which are super tasty. And you get a little trip back in time for free, as the interior of the traditional café catapults you straight back to the 1950s. Beautiful every time.

Supernova is now one of THE addresses in Maxvorstadt when it comes to Italian dining. But did you know that the breakfast here is also impressive? Until 3 p.m., you can get ricotta lemon pancakes, for example, which will send you to Sicily with their lemony taste, or individual Italian products such as truffle salami or scamorza, which come to your table together with a bread basket. Incidentally, the bread here is from Julius Brantner, who has his bakery directly opposite. And as if that wasn't enough, you can also enjoy an aperitivo here for breakfast. Saluti!

Are you getting bored of the same old breakfast classics, avocado sandwiches and pancakes? Then we definitely recommend starting the day with a culinary treat at Das Maria. Here you can enjoy oriental breakfasts such as Persian omelettes with herbs, barberries, labneh and flatbread or oriental French toast with vanilla, cardamom, orange and handmade chocolate halwa cream and fruit (to name just a small selection from the extensive breakfast menu). You can even order until 6 pm!

If you're in the mood for a classic breakfast, we recommend a trip to Café Westend. The breakfast menu is divided into cities - the Paris breakfast has croissants, while the San Francisco breakfast has bagels and smoked salmon. Self-explanatory and simple - but still good! Breakfast, which can be enjoyed on the sun terrace when the weather is nice, is always available until 3 pm.

Trachtenvogl is an absolute breakfast classic in Glockenbach. No wonder, because it's not only long (always until 2:30 pm), but also relaxed. The atmosphere is relaxed and with indoor and outdoor seating, it's worth a visit at any time of year. The breakfast menu is small, but still offers plenty of variety, from veal sausage breakfasts to vegan breakfasts. Come around!

The name of this café in Maxvorstadt, not far from the university, says it all: it really does feel a bit like being in a winding garden here. But it's not just because of the nice, laid-back atmosphere that the Gartensalon has long been one of our favorite places to have breakfast - the menu also scores points. There are croissants with homemade jam (also vegan!) or topped with cheese. The breakfast cake with dried apricots and seeds and an Ayurvedic porridge with cashew butter are brand new additions to the menu. You can even have breakfast until 5 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays.

Would you like to have a vegan breakfast and/or gluten-free options? Then Emmi's Kitchen is the place to be. Breakfast is always available until 4 pm and looks something like this: Scrambled tofu, pancakes and even burgers. No food wishes are left unfulfilled here, which is why a visit is not only worthwhile for vegans. Especially delicious: the cinnamon buns, which are made according to Emmi's original recipe by the traditional Munich bakery Eberl. To sink your teeth into!

That's exactly why we love the Aroma coffee bar: to spend the whole day chatting with friends over good coffee and breakfast and forget about the time. In the truest sense of the word, because breakfast is served here until late in the evening! The food is regional, yet the menu is extremely varied.

Café Om Nom Nom, which opened its doors in Sendling in 2020, is still one of our favorite new discoveries from last year. The premises of a former butcher's shop are now literally the opposite, offering vegan breakfasts, cakes and delicacies to take away. Throughout the day, you can choose between a variety of warm & grilled sandwiches, a sweet açaí bowl or the popular NOM NOM snack (perfect for sharing!) with 4 types of vegan cheese, organic bread, antipasti, fig mustard, vegan Landjäger and other delicacies. Nom nom nom - that's all you need to say.

A brunch menu that includes San Benedetto eggs, ricotta lemon pancakes or Julius Brantner farmhouse bread bruscetta with homemade avocado cream definitely puts you in the best breakfast mood. The associated restaurant - in this case a trattoria - is called MARTA and is located directly at Schwabinger Tor. In addition to very good brunch dishes, you can also look forward to colorful Superitalo dishes that make the food look even prettier. The portions are large, so we think the ten euros for Eggs Benedict are justified.
