It would probably be boring to just sway back and forth while having brunch on deck: as soon as the sails are ready, you set off on a four-hour journey along the Elbe, past the Elbphilharmonie and the Landungsbrücken and out to Blankenese. Questions about sailing and the ship will be answered directly on the spot by the captain.

The ship: Mare Frisium

Your home for these four hours is the windjammer Mare Frisium - a classic sailing ship that departs from Niederhafen in Hamburg and is a three-masted schooner (you can ask the person at the helm with the blue and white peaked cap what that means). The Mare Frisium has been sailing under the flag of NORD EVENT since October 2025.

Whether you prefer to have the sea breeze blowing around your nose on deck or prefer a more cozy atmosphere below, you'll find your place here. The ship has character, history and, with the right weather, you will never want to enjoy your breakfast any other way again.

This brunch is an absolute must-do for anyone who loves Hamburg, enjoys a good breakfast and wants to get a different perspective on the city. By the way: The sailing trips are also available on public holidays such as Ascension Day and Whitsun & are therefore perfect for a trip with the whole family!
