Outdoor pools in Munich

Never heard of the Michaelibad? That can happen to you. The outdoor pool is located in Neuperlach, but is Munich's largest leisure pool. Look forward to the adventure slide, a 50-metre sports pool with two swimming lanes and a 10-metre diving platform. You can spread out your blankets on the sun terrace or the large sunbathing lawn and eat something in the bistro if you're hungry. The Michaelibad also has an indoor pool with a sauna area.

If you long for a dip in the cool water in the Neuhausen-Nymphenburg area, head for the Dantebad. Located at Gern subway station, the summer outdoor pool has 50-meter lanes for the sports swimmers among you, a large sunbathing lawn, diving tower and even a current channel where you can let yourself drift in circles. There is also a kiosk with a beer garden right in the pool for chips and ice cream in between. So all types of swimmers are sure to enjoy this visit to the outdoor pool.

For those of you from Schwabing and Munich's northern lights, the Ungerer Bad is a small oasis of relaxation on warm summer days. Here you can either look for a shady spot on the extensive sunbathing lawns or let off steam in a sporty way. In addition to a water slide, there are also two beach volleyball courts, a soccer pitch, a trampoline, a diving platform and, of course, a pool for swimmers. The kiosk is also not to be sneezed at. So whether you want to hone your water jumping technique or have a relaxing day with chips, you can do both at Ungerer Bad.

The Prinzregentenbad is a great place to be in both summer and winter. In the colder months, people skate here and then go to the sauna. But now it's summer and it's time for a dip. The Prinzregentenbad has a 25-metre sports pool, a small diving facility, an adventure pool for younger visitors and, thanks to the kiosk, world-class fries and popsicles. What's particularly nice about this outdoor pool is that it not only has a green sunbathing lawn, but also a sand-filled Prinzestrand beach. So the Prinzregentenbad provides that vacation feeling in the middle of Munich.

If you're looking for a dip in really cool water, then Maria Einsiedel is the place for you. The natural pool in Thalkirchen not only has a 50-metre swimming pool and a children's paddling pool, but also a section of the Isar Canal that you can jump into. And it's wonderfully cold, especially in high summer temperatures. You don't really have to swim on the 400-metre section of the canal that flows through Maria Einsiedel, you can just let yourself drift. So if jumping into the Eisbach is a little too risky for you, you can have your own personal Isar experience here.

The Schyrenbad is very centrally located in Munich directly on the Isar in the Untergiesing district. Above the Wittelsbacherbrücke bridge, you can have fun in Munich's oldest baths. People have been strolling, tanning and bathing here in summer since 1847. On offer are: A 50-meter pool with three separate swimmers' lanes, a non-swimmers' pool, an adventure pool and a paddling pool as well as a wide water slide. But you can do more than just cool off in the Schyrenbad - there are also table tennis tables, a soccer pitch and a chess field. As you can see, the Schyrenbad is a great place to spend time. To make sure you don't get hungry, a kiosk with a self-service beer garden provides you with all kinds of delicious food and snacks.
