Offering delicious sweets & having a positive impact at the same time - that is djoon's mission! The young start-up has set itself the task of creating incredibly delicious chocolates that are made exclusively from natural ingredients and are sustainable. Sounds like a big task? Absolutely! One of the founders will tell you personally what's behind the young company and where djoon is heading.

NEW & NICE: Here we introduce you to young, innovative and sustainable companies that are making the world a little bit better. And since no one can explain their passion project as well as the creative minds behind it, we save ourselves long introductions and let the creators have their say.

Brief round of introductions: Who are you and what is your role in the company?

Hi, I'm Leon and I founded the food start-up djoon together with Carolin and Martin a year and a half ago. I make sure that lots of people get to know and love djoon sweets and that the djoon brand stands for something.

How do you explain what you do to your grandma?

We make sweets from dates that taste unbeatably good, but are also healthier and sustainable. Our best-known product is the djoon date praline: dark chocolate wrapped in a creamy Medjool date with many different fillings, such as Salted Peanut, Bomba di Pistacchio or Raspberry Cream.

How do you make the world a little bit better?

Our aim is to harmonize enjoyment with health and the environment. Taste is our top priority, but only in combination with values. That's why djoon treats are of course always organic, vegan and without added sugar. Our chocolates, for example, consist only of unprocessed superfoods such as raw cocoa, dates, nuts or berries. They still taste like a real treat.

What should we all pay a little more attention to?

Ah, there's so much... But when it comes to snacking, there are two principles that work quite well: buying organic as often as possible and choosing food that is as unprocessed as possible. The latter also means reducing refined sugar. Of course, that's not enough, but at least it provides a certain basis for sustainability and a more balanced diet.

Working to live or living to work?

The mistake is to equate "work" and "job". Without meaning in work, there is no meaning in life. Work on something that gives you meaning and you live.

Where else is the journey going?

We know where we want to go. But to get there, we still need lots of people who love the djoon idea as much as we do. That's why we are constantly working on new treats for our customers, putting as much surprise as possible into the packaging and always staying true to our values. We work really hard on this, but above all with passion.

We are in the hype! Have you got a hankering for the chocolates too? Or the sustainable spreads? Take a look online and order your treats. If you want to get to know the founders live, there's a real highlight: "To save on delivery costs and say hello to us, you can select "Pick up" as the delivery method during the ordering process." Enjoy the taste!
