Reservations without a phone call: 10 restaurant tips
Reservations are annoying, but in Munich they are almost necessary in many restaurants. But if you get cold feet or sweaty palms every time you think about phoning (we feel you), we have a solid list of restaurants where you can easily make reservations online.
München72
München72 is quite sporty - at least as far as the names of the individual breakfast dishes are concerned. Depending on your current fitness level, you can choose between a gymnast's, runner's or weightlifter's breakfast. But don't worry: there's always plenty. The same goes for the rest of the menu, which includes schnitzel, various types of farmer's bread, chips, burgers and cheese spaetzle. Especially good: in the colder months, you can also eat meat or cheese fondue at München72. You can also order in advance using the online reservation tool. Yey!
Alpenhof
81541 München
Definitely one of our favorite Italian restaurants - the Osteria Alpenhof in Obergiesing. In addition to the extensive pasta and pizza menu, we always recommend taking a look at the monthly menu. Here you will find mainly seasonal dishes for all tastes. Finally, a tip for all those who find it hard to decide and like to share: At the Alpenhof, you can ask for the so-called Golden Tongs. You order whatever you fancy, place everything in the middle of the table and the great sharing with friends or family can begin.
Madam Anna Ekke
A day bar has opened in the Glockenbach district: Madam Anna Ecke welcomes you with a TukTuk as a service station, a spacious outdoor area and home-made dishes ranging from tapas of all kinds to shakshuka and vegan pancakes. At weekends, you can enjoy a more than extensive brunch there and, of course, there is plenty of sparkling wine.
Nage & Sauge
80538 München
In this small restaurant in Lehel, salad has nothing to do with plain greens. That's why it's best to come to the Nage and eat very hungry, because the portions are not only generous, they also keep you full for a very long time. And yes, salad can do that! The kitchen works its magic with halloumi, potato rösti, chickpeas, all kinds of meat and endless other great ingredients until even the biggest salad fan has no more objections. Before corona, you couldn't make a reservation here, but now you can even do it online. You'll just have to pack cash, because unfortunately card payment still doesn't work.
Cooperativa
80469 München
Another restaurant where you couldn't make a reservation at all before Corona - the Cooperativa in Jahnstraße. In addition to a really large outdoor seating area, they also have an online reservation tool. From the useful to the enjoyable: Cooperativa serves sumptuous salad plates divided into Rustico Carne, Rustico Mare and Rustico Vegetariano. For those who never, ever want to eat salad, pasta and frittata are on the menu.
La Kaz
80339 München
The menu at La Kaz is as varied as the range of chairs. From a large selection of salads to pasta, soups, schnitzel and dumplings, no wish is left unfulfilled here. But there is something for everyone here. The outdoor area is also very nice in summer, where you can watch the hustle and bustle between Kazmairstraße and Ligsalzstraße.
bnb – Banh Mi & Beer
80339 München
The mix is what makes this small restaurant in the Westend so special: the menu features good beers and fine cocktails paired with fresh Vietnamese dishes. In addition to banh mi, a Vietnamese baguette with spicy meat or tofu, pickled carrots and radishes, cucumber and coriander, there are summer rolls, rice and noodle bowls as well as cheesecake flan for dessert.
Bodega Dali
A touch of Spain wafts through Schwabing when you take the steps down to Bodega Dali. A tapas restaurant as we imagine it, everything here is beautifully rustic. The smaller tables in the darker corners are particularly cozy. But Bodega Dali is also the right place for larger groups - after all, nothing is better for sharing than tapas. So order up and down the menu and order again and again and don't forget the cerveza and vino, and it will feel a bit like Spain. Since Corona, the Bodega has also been blessed with a large shani, but for the right flair we would always eat in the restaurant.
Spezlwirtschaft
81371/81667 München
Hip hop and Bavarian food - that's what you can expect when you visit one of the "Spezlwirtschaften" in Haidhausen or Sendling. Despite being an "established restaurant", the menu has a surprise or two in store: kohlrabi schnitzel for vegetarians and vegans, for example. The classic meatballs or baked roast beef, on the other hand, will make all fans of traditional Bavarian cuisine happy. Add a freshly tapped beer (Franziskaner or Löwenbräu) and the foundation for a good evening is laid.
