Anyone who has ever grabbed a bite to eat at Royal Healthy Slices on Hohenzollernplatz will know about the exceptional hospitality of owner Herakles. So it's great that the small snack bar has now grown a few streets away. At the Royal Cookhouse Pizzeria in Belgradstraße, Italian pizzas with a touch of Georgian-Greek flavor created by Herakles' sister Nina await you.

With Royal Healthy Slices, Herakles has shown us that Georgian and Greek cuisine can be wonderfully combined. But what happens when you also bring the cucina of Italy into play? Sounds unusual at first, but in the case of pizza and various starters, it works very well. The creations are the work of Heracles' older sister Nina, who, alongside her father, mother and younger sister Nina, has now also found her way from Greece to Munich.

A look at the menu

If you haven't had much to do with Georgian or Greek cuisine before, you won't know much about the names of the starters at first. So a little joy of discovery is required here, but this is guaranteed to come after just a few bites. We try Pxali, a Georgian specialty with fresh spinach, walnuts, coriander and garlic, as well as eggplant stuffed with walnuts, onions, garlic, coriander and pomegranate. Served with super tasty bread and oil, the first course is perfect.

Which country is still missing? Right, Italy and therefore pizza. With ten different creations, the selection is just right and vegetarians are not neglected either. Because the choice is a little difficult, we let Herakles recommend two: Burratina and Verde Pistacchio. The former comes with San Marzano tomatoes, Piennolo tomatoes, garlic, Burrata Campana latteria Sorrentina, basil and oregano. The Pizza Verde Pistacchio impresses with homemade pistachio pesto, fiordilatte, buffalo mozzarella from Paestum, pistachio powder, tomatoes del piennolo, Grana Padano PDO and basil.

If you don't want to go without meat on your pizza, you can order the Pizza Royal with fior di latte, salsiccia, smoked scamorza cheese, cardoncelli mushrooms, tomato del piennolo, basil, black pepper and extra virgin olive oil, for example. For vegans, there is an option with San Marzano tomatoes, tomato del piennolo, zucchinis, eggplants, peppers, taggiasche olives and basil. So no one is left wanting at the Royal Cookhouse Pizzeria.

When creating the pizzas, it was very important to Herakles that they were as healthy and digestible as possible. The dough can therefore rest for three days and the freshest possible ingredients are used for the toppings. At least we feel so light after our starter and pizza that we let ourselves be persuaded to have a dessert called "Napoleon". This again comes from Greece and has been slightly modified by Nina. The traditional vanilla cream is joined by fresh berries, crunchy biscuits and powdered sugar. Mhhh!

In the end, we are not only full, but also once again delighted by the family atmosphere, the quality of the food and Heracles' priceless hospitality. As the restaurant does not have a large number of tables, we recommend that you make a reservation during the week. In the spring and summer months, there is seating in front of the Cookhouse Pizzeria. Nina is currently working on a small but fine cocktail menu.
